Centre for Northern Innovation in Mining (CNIM)

Term:
April 24 – March 31, 2027 (possibility of extension)

Campus:
Whitehorse, Ayamdigut (Whitehorse) & Community Campuses

Wage: commensurate with experience

Responsibilities
  • Deliver classroom, simulator, and in‑truck training for Class 1–3 Driver Training using curriculum, tractor, and trailer supplied by Yukon University.
  • Maintain highest safety standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide instruction on air brakes, commercial driving, and related topics.
Qualifications
  • Unrestricted Class 1 License, clean driving abstract, and safe driving record.
  • 10+ years of experience as a long‑haul driver of a tractor/semi‑trailer or tractor‑two trailers.
  • Hands‑on experience with air brakes and commercial driver training.
  • Teaching experience or teaching qualification is an asset.
  • Additional certificates in mechanical trades are an asset.
  • Holding a MELT Commercial Driver Instructor Certificate or willingness to acquire it is a strong asset.
