Job Title
Civil Engineering Technologist (NOC 22300)
LocationWhitehorse, Yukon (relocation assistance available)
OverviewWSP is looking for a Civil Engineering Technologist to support a diverse portfolio of municipal projects including water and wastewater systems, stormwater management, municipal roads, and land development. The role involves both office and field work and is full‑time (37.5 hours per week) with overtime as required during the construction season.
Responsibilities- Develop conventional and computer‑assisted design (CAD) engineering drawings from preliminary concepts and sketches.
- Prepare construction specifications, cost and material estimates, project schedules, and reports.
- Supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections, and technical investigations of topography, soils, drainage, water supply systems, roads, and structures to provide data for engineering projects.
- Conduct or supervise inspection and testing of construction materials.
- Administer construction contracts, monitor and inspect construction projects.
- Assist in developing engineering specifications and drawings.
- A civil engineering technologist diploma from an accredited college (minimum).
- Technical experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, emphasizing pipe networks, alignments, corridors, surface editing, design, and importing survey data.
- Eligibility for membership/certification with ASET, ASTTBC, CTTAM, OACETT, or Engineers Yukon.
- Knowledge of survey techniques and instruments (GPS RTK, level surveying, total stations, theodolites).
- Progressive experience with a mix of design, project management, and construction.
- 4+ years of experience in municipal construction inspection, construction management, or production of construction contract documents.
- Previous success in customer service, client management, and proposal/report writing.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Expected hourly salary in Yukon: $27.82 – $49.11.
- Eligible for overtime pay (1.5x after 40 hours per week or 8 hours per day) per Yukon regulations.
