The Executive Council Office is the centre of excellence for the Government of Yukon. We lead the modernization of government standards and processes, providing central strategic advice to advance priorities through policy development, communications, intergovernmental and Indigenous relations, major project management, youth initiatives, scientific knowledge, and by supporting the Water Board and the Commissioner’s Office. The department also supports the Premier and Cabinet.

Opportunity

We seek a highly organized individual to lead the development of research, policy, and plans in support of the development assessment process and the integration of resource management initiatives. As Yukon Government’s representative, you will provide leadership and/or support in internal and external agency processes, including consultation and resource planning with other YG departments, federal agencies, First Nation governments, the Yukon Environmental and Socio‑economic Assessment Board (YESAB), other boards, councils, stakeholders, and the public.

Your strategic thinking, analysis, facilitation, and communication will ensure successful implementation of the Yukon Environmental and Socio‑economic Assessment Act while streamlining regulatory processes and identifying efficiencies.

Essential Qualifications
  • Degree in Public Administration, Social or Environmental Sciences, or related field.
  • Experience researching and analyzing environmental issues, impacts and/or mitigation and recommending appropriate courses of action.
  • Experience providing development and analysis of policies and communications preferably in a government setting.
  • Experience facilitating or supporting planning in a government setting with First Nations, industry, boards/committees and/or the public.
  • Knowledge and experience with YESAA.
  • Experience working with the DART System would be an asset.

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications may be equally considered.
