Job Summary:

The French Language Services Directorate (FLSD) is a team of twenty-five client-focused professionals dedicated to empowering departments to serve and inform Yukoners in French. The Bilingual Communications Division supports government employees in informing, engaging with and promoting bilingual services to the public. The division is anchored by three core teams that drive its daily operations:
Translation Services, Translation Project Delivery Management, and Bilingual Communications Support (the communications advisors are part of this team).

The opportunity:

The Bilingual Communications Division is seeking a self-motivated and dynamic team player who enjoys connecting with others and building positive relationships. In this role, you will support colleagues in other departments by coordinating access to centralized services, including translation services. You will also monitor and publish government online content in French, and provide advice on how to best reach and engage with French-speaking audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate access to centralized services, including translation services.
  • Monitor and publish government online content in French.
  • Provide advice on best practices for engaging French-speaking audiences.
  • Support communications initiatives with potential reputation, public, or stakeholder impacts.
  • Maintain high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing projects and delivering consistent, high-quality service to clients, collaborators, partners, or stakeholders, including acting as a primary point of contact to address needs, priorities, and issues.
  • Experience managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting communications initiatives with potential reputational, public, or stakeholder impacts, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and responsiveness.
  • Experience working within public service frameworks, policies, and guidelines, with an understanding of accountability, processes, and service standards.
  • Completion of post-secondary education in communications, marketing, project management, public administration, or a related field is an asset.
