Licensed Practical Nurse - Secure Medical Unit

Join Whitehorse General Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Secure Medical Unit, focused on patient stabilization and care. This full-time role emphasizes treatment procedures and nursing care plan development.

In this position, you will work under the Clinical Care Manager's guidance, applying your nursing knowledge to assist patients through various treatments. You'll be an integral part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, tasked with ensuring effective communication and quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver nursing care for patient stability

• Execute specified treatments and procedures

• Create and implement nursing care plans

• Maintain clear communication with patients and staff

• Assertively advocate for patient care and education

Requirements:

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required

• Must be registered with Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA)

• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R) certification

• Relevant practicum experience in acute care preferred

• Understanding of nursing practices and patient care trends
