Operating Room Registered Nurse

Join Whitehorse General Hospital as a full-time Operating Room Registered Nurse. Deliver specialized nursing care in a collaborative, on-site environment while advancing your skills and knowledge.

This is a full-time role at the L09 level, centered in Yukon Territory. You will provide nursing care through administration and implementation of therapeutic programs and best practices. Essential skills include effective interpersonal communication, reliability, and advocacy, as well as the ability to teach and execute care plans clearly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care during preoperative and postoperative phases

• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety

• Develop and implement nursing treatment and discharge plans

• Apply knowledge of nursing best practices and procedures

• Educate patients and families on recovery and health maintenance

Requirements:

• Diploma/Baccalaureate degree in Nursing

• Minimum of one year of nursing experience in a specialty

• Current registration with Yukon Registered Nurses Association

• C.P.R. certification and completed peri-operative program

• Preferred certifications: A.C.L.S, P.A.L.S., N.R.P.
