Job Summary and Requirements
This posting will be used to fill 1 full‑time term ending August 11, 2027, working 75 hours bi‑weekly. It will establish a 12‑month eligibility list which may be used to fill anticipatory permanent, term, AOC and casual vacancies.

Your RoleThe Care and Community branch is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to take on a clinical leadership role. This position champions person‑centred care while supervising, mentoring and guiding staff to deliver exceptional service that respects culture, dignity, and individual needs. The ideal candidate is a confident leader with strong clinical expertise, critical thinking skills, and a passion for teamwork, coaching, and continuous improvement.

- Current registration with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association or a Canadian registered nursing regulatory authority
- Recent and relevant clinical nursing experience within the Registered Nurse scope of practice, including assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
- Recent experience in a leadership or team coordination capacity (e.g., charge nurse, preceptor, mentoring, or acting supervisory roles)
- Experience in a supervisory role that involved supervision and participation in performance‑management processes is an asset
- Experience providing care to seniors or adults in a long‑term care setting is an asset
- Experience in post‑acute care environments may be considered an asset
- Dedicated to providing the highest standard of resident care by way of excellent clinical and assessment skills and a genuine desire to work with residents in long‑term care
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work with and lead a variety of disciplines in a team atmosphere
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict‑management skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- CRP Level C with AED (completed within the last 30 months)
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods certificate (completed within the last 30 months)
- WHMIS 2015
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions
- Current registration with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association
This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:
- Exposure to animals, latex products, second‑hand smoke from residents, and infectious agents
