The Whitehorse Correctional Centre invites experienced nurses to apply for two full-time positions. This role, set in a dynamic correctional environment, involves delivering primary healthcare and mental health services. You'll use critical thinking, clinical skills, and a collaborative approach, impacting health outcomes for clients with a range of conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver comprehensive healthcare within a correctional facility
• Manage urgent and chronic health conditions
• Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions
• Conduct mental health evaluations and treatment plans
• Provide education on health maintenance and prevention
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
• Valid RN registration and recent relevant experience
• Demonstrated ability to make clinical decisions independently
• Experience in correctional or community health settings preferred
• Capacity to work in high-stress environments
