Become a part of Stantec’s Yukon archaeological team as a field-based intermediate archaeologist. Drive projects focusing on heritage impact assessment and community relationships.
Stantec is expanding its archaeological capacity in Yukon by hiring an intermediate archaeologist based in Whitehorse. The role requires fieldwork throughout Yukon and possibly in BC, emphasizing safety and ethical practices. Candidates must be or become eligible for Yukon Class 2 ASR permits within a year.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct impact assessments and manage fieldwork
• Contribute to reports and project proposals
• Lead and supervise archaeological field staff
• Collect and manage field data using ESRI technologies
• Engage with Indigenous communities for resource recommendations
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in archaeology with fieldwork experience
• Minimum three years in archaeological supervision
• Familiar with heritage site documentation and analysis
• Willingness to travel extensively for remote projects
• Valid class 5 driver’s license and off-road vehicle skills
