As a Victim Services Worker, you will engage with individuals and families affected by crime, guiding them through the complexities of their rights and available community resources. Your work will involve advocacy, safety planning, and short-term counseling, prepared to operate effectively in emergency and crisis situations. Knowledge about Indigenous histories and cultures is essential for culturally responsive support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist clients in navigating their rights within the justice system
• Provide short-term counseling and emotional support
• Collaborate with legal system entities for efficient case handling
• Facilitate access to community services and protective resources
• Implement crisis intervention strategies as needed
Requirements:
• Degree in social work, psychology, or related field
• Front-line experience in crisis settings required
• Familiarity with BIPOC and LGBTQI2S+ communities beneficial
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French highly regarded
• Security clearance mandated for employment
