Join Connective as a Casual Shelter Worker in Whitehorse, Yukon. This role is dedicated to providing 24/7 support to individuals experiencing homelessness, focusing on dignity and safety.
As a Shelter Worker within Connective's dynamic environment, you will help support vulnerable adults through person-centered programs. This position requires a strong commitment to client dignity and the ability to foster connections with community resources. Responsibilities include assisting with daily needs and maintaining a welcoming environment for all shelter users.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure minimum bed availability for shelter users
• Monitor and ensure safety within shelter premises
• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments within 72 hours
• Connect individuals to crucial community services
• Support shelter users in developing life skills
Requirements:
• Experience working with vulnerable populations for a year
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care
• Preferred WHMIS certification
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English
• Current Emergency First Aid Certificate
