Total Compensation Package- Assessment & Diagnosis:
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical exams, and diagnostic testing. - Diagnosis:
Identify and diagnose acute, chronic, and complex health conditions. - Treatment Planning:
Develop individualized care plans that address patient needs, including treatment goals and expected outcomes. - Prescribing:
Prescribe medications, therapies, and medical devices.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Contact or control over Indian children requirement (Public Law 101‑630). Must not have been found guilty of certain crimes.
- Compliance with IHS Employee Immunization Policy regarding vaccine‑preventable diseases.
- Medical staff clinical privileges, licensure maintenance required.
- On‑call hours or standby duty may be required.
- Successful E‑Verify employment verification check.
- Direct deposit setup required.
- Pre‑employment background investigation and fingerprint check required.
To qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the specific Nurse Practitioner role.
- Education:
Graduate or higher‑level degree in nursing from an accredited professional program (e.g., accredited by CCNE, ACEN, etc.). Foreign nursing graduates must have official certification from CGNFS. - Licensure:
Current, active, full, and unrestricted RN license in a state, DC, PR, or U.S. territory. Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license in the required specialty if applicable (e.g., Acute Care, Community Health, Family, Geriatric, etc.). - Experience:
At least one year of specialized advanced practice nursing experience at the GS‑12 grade level or equivalent.
- Minimum one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower federal grade level in either the private or public sector.
- Independent practice as a nurse practitioner, including critical care, prescribing, managing acute/chronic conditions, developing treatment plans, referrals, crisis intervention, and collaboration with health professionals.
