Infant and Toddler Teacher

Caregiving & Routine Support

• Provide nurturing care for children aged 10 months- 36 months old
• Support routines such as feeding, diapering, toileting, and napping in a responsive and hygienic manner
• Observe and respond to children’s cues

• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to support:
  • Cognitive development
  • Language development
  • Social-emotional growth
  • Motor skills

• Observe and document each child’s development
• Identify and communicate developmental milestones or concerns
• Contribute to portfolios and communicate progress with families

• Maintain clean and safe environments in compliance with BC licensing regulations
• Conduct regular checks on toys, equipment, and the classroom
• Follow protocols for illness, injuries, and emergency preparedness

• Build trusting relationships with parents/guardians
• Share updates about the child’s day, development, and routines
• Offer support and resources when needed (e.g., transitions, referrals)

• Work with fellow educators to create consistent and supportive environments
• Attend team meetings and contribute to planning

Additional Qualifications:

Must have the Early Childhood Education Infant/Toddler Post-Basic Certificate from BC, and the Early Childhood Education Post-Basic (Special Needs Specialization) Certificate
