Hospitalist - Peace Arch Hospital Job Summary
Peace Arch Hospital (PAH) is seeking qualified physicians to join our well established Hospitalist program in a permanent or part time capacity. Applicants should have a strong interest in developing an acute care hospital practice and working collaboratively with all members of the inter‑professional team, including medical staff, Nurse Practitioners and Allied Health staff.
Responsibilities- Primary responsibilities include admission and management of acute medical patients as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP), as well as consulting and supportive medical service in some surgical and psychiatric patients.
- Work collaboratively with specialist and community‑based physicians to optimize patient care and discharge planning processes.
- Demonstrate commitment to the evolving specialty of hospital medicine through involvement in clinical and non‑clinical activities (quality improvement projects, committee participation, academic excellence).
- Manage shifts: 8 day shifts 7 am‑5 pm, evening 5 pm‑midnight, night midnight‑7 am (requires sleeping on premises), admission line 12 pm‑5 pm, virtual shift 5 pm‑9 pm from home.
- ACLS, CCFP, CMPA, CPSBC Full, FRCPC or equivalent.
- Superior clinical and communication skills with exceptional bedside manner and patient management abilities.
- Proficiency with the range of hospital and community resources at the local institution.
- New graduates expected to demonstrate proficiency through electives/rotations; post‑graduate Fellowship in hospital medicine preferred.
Per master agreement. Full time considered 14 days/month; part time 50% of those hours.
