Surgical Instrument Aide

Position: Surgical Instrument Aide at Fraser Health
Become a Surgical Instrument Aide at Fraser Health, dedicated to the sterilization and organization of surgical tools and equipment. This role is pivotal in upholding safety and efficiency within the OR environment.

Fraser Health is looking for an individual with a completion of Grade 12 and the Sterile Supply Processing Program, plus one year of relevant experience. You will undertake tasks such as cleaning, assembling, and transporting surgical instruments, while also managing supply levels and maintaining sterilization processes. A strong grasp of surgical terminology and teamwork abilities are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sterilize and assemble surgical instruments for procedures

• Clean and transport anaesthetic equipment

• Monitor and maintain sanitary conditions in the OR

• Restock supplies and prepare anaesthetic carts

• Perform clerical work and assist with workload recording

Requirements:

• Grade 12 and Sterile Supply Processing Program completion

• One year of relevant operating room experience

• Knowledge of medical and surgical terminology

• Strong organizational and communication abilities

• Physical ability to execute all tasks required
