Cataloging Librarian - University Libraries

* Create and update work procedures when necessary.
* Assist with training, supervision, and evaluation of cataloging staff and student workers, including delegating tasks to achieve departmental goals.
* Coordinate and assist withdrawal of materials.
* Perform catalog maintenance projects as assigned.
* Coordinate receiving, processing and cataloging material gifts.
* Assist with annual statistics and other assessment projects.
* Master of Library Science or related field/experience
* Knowledge of cataloging rules, regulations, processes and procedures
* Experience with library management systems
* Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff and faculty
* Ability to work independently under a variety of complex rules and regulations
* Effective oral and written communication
* Previous library experience and/or classes
* Experience with cataloging or ALMA integrated library management systems
* Experience with cataloging various formats of materials including electronic resources
* Experience with multiple concurrent processes and procedures
* Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
* Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations, including necessary training and drills.
