DescriptionThe Medical Assistant 2 provides essential support and administrative services to the office, the doctors, and the patients in a fast‑paced doctor’s office. This person will be involved in a wide spectrum of tasks focused around assisting the Physician in all minor in‑office procedures, as well as being cross‑trained in all aspects of the Front Desk Receptionist role to include scheduling, data entry, and maintaining patient records.
Responsibilities- Welcome patients, take vitals, document medical history, and update EMRs
- Assist physicians with injections, wart treatments, nail care, P&A, and minor surgeries
- Perform basic podiatric care, diabetic shoe fittings, and digital X‑rays
- Prep, clean, and autoclave instruments; maintain treatment room supplies
- Handle front desk responsibilities: scheduling, insurance verification, patient payments, and records management
- Follow‑up with patients post‑procedure and maintain accurate documentation
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR 2+ years of experience in a similar clinical role
- Strong experience assisting with medical procedures, wound care, DME, and surgical prep
- Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT/ICD‑10 codes, insurance processes, and EMR systems
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy practices (mandatory)
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Technologically savvy; proficient in Microsoft 365 products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- CMA or RMA certification preferred
- $21 - $22/hr based on experience
