Mechanical CAD Designer – Pro Pak Solutions
Pro Pak Solutions designs and assembles packaged mechanical systems to specifications for our customers, reducing installation time and risk. The Mechanical CAD Designer provides 3D computer‑aided design models using Solid Works, creates submittal documentation, fabrication drawings, and as‑built drawings for the shop.
ScopeThe Mechanical Designer creates 3D models, submittal documentation, fabrication drawings, and as‑built drawings, ensuring compliance with specifications and space restrictions.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in submittal kickoff meetings.
- Review contract documents and quotations for the packaged system scope.
- Review equipment submittals and understand requirements for each piece of equipment.
- Review PID/1‑line diagrams and sequence of operations to incorporate requirements into the 3‑D space.
- Create 3‑D model of the packaged system considering space restrictions, maintenance requirements, and connection locations.
- Include electrical and control design components, enclosures, ductwork, and other required project components.
- Create submittal drawings: front, side, top, isometric, section views, details, etc.
- Create Bill of Materials drawing identifying major components.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings.
- Draw fabrication (build) drawings for structural steel bases.
- Draw weld fabrication details including spool identification, weld , dimensions, and other required items.
- Create assembly drawings for skid including equipment location, spool assembly locations, and supports.
- Provide updated as‑built model and drawings based on shop red‑line documents.
- Develop and improve processes as the company grows.
- Work with engineering and production staff to improve communication and efficiencies.
- Learn engineering basics for hydronic systems, electrical & control system basics, and sequence of operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Solid Works 3‑D modeling.
- Familiarity with HVAC mechanical design and piping systems.
- Ability to multi‑task and work independently.
- Strong desire to learn and take on responsibility.
- Excellent people skills and detail oriented.
Occasional light lifting (20‑25 lbs.), office environment. Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend, and move about the facility. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
