We are inviting expressions of interest for a Freelance Dot Kids Art Leader to deliver our multi-award-winning After School Art Club program in primary schools across Whitstable, Kent
.

About the role
- This is freelance work delivering our After School Art Club program for primary school–aged children
. - The role usually runs for 32 weeks of the academic year and includes four sessions per week
, as follows: - Monday – one-hour session
- Tuesday – one-hour session
- Wednesday – 45-minute session
- Thursday – one-hour session
- During these sessions, you will facilitate children’s creativity, self-expression, and confidence through art
, using our structured Dot Kids session plans as guidance. - Sessions take place on school sites in Whitstable, Kent
. - Payment is:
- £35 per one-hour session
- £26.25 per 45-minute session
- You will be responsible for safely dismissing pupils to their parents/carers at the end of each session.
- Across one academic year, this equates to approximately 120 hours of guided art facilitation
, with a total payment of £4,200
. - Dot Kids session plans will be provided.
- Training in the Dot Kids Method will be provided.
- There will be opportunities for additional creative projects in 2026
.
Who we are looking for:
You will be someone who:
- Is confident and comfortable working with primary school–aged children
. - Can inspire creativity, self-expression, and confidence in children.
- Aligns with the Dot Kids ethos of nurturing confidence, individuality, and wellbeing through art.
- Holds an enhanced DBS certificate that is no older than three years (Due to the role starting in January, applicants must already hold a valid enhanced DBS, as there will not be time to apply for a new one).
- Training for this role starts on Tuesday 6th January 2026
. - There will be four training/shadowing sessions
. - And a 30-minute safeguarding training session
, that will take place in Whitstable on the morning of Tuesday 6th January.
