This is a shift based job share role working 16 hours per week.

Setting and operating CNC multi‑tasking lathes to manufacture components from raw material (bar stock) for our internal assembly flow lines to the highest quality and on time.

• Setting and operating CNC lathes to produce small to medium size batches of work in a timely manner.
• Inspecting work to engineering drawings using various measuring equipment and reporting any quality defects to the machine shop supervisor.
• Daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checks on machines, including maintaining good housekeeping standards, 5S requirements and reporting any issues promptly to supervision.
• Optimising efficiencies through reduced set‑up and cycle times, plus tool life monitoring.
• De‑burring, cleaning, final inspection, and completion of all traceability documentation.
• Carry out such other duties that may be reasonably requested.

• GCSE, or equivalent, in English and Maths Grade C or above or relevant experience.

• A knowledge of operating CNC machine tools.
• Experience of CNC lathes with a minimum of 4 axis.
• Experience of reading and editing Fanuc based programs.
• Competent in reading and understanding engineering drawings and be able to inspect their work using a range of measurement equipment to ensure the product is correct to drawing.

Applicants must possess the physical capability to engage in manual labour tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, as outlined in the job requirements.

• Knowledge of operating twin spindle machines would be an advantage.
• The ability to work to AS9100 aerospace quality standard.
