* Week 1:
Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm

* Week 2:
Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm – 10:30pm and Friday, 2:00pm – 7:30pm
   Salary:
Competitive DOE + 25% Shift Premium

About the Role

Our Client is seeking a motivated and reliable Machine Setter / Operator to join their Machine Shop team in Whitstable. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC professional to join a well-established manufacturing business producing precision-engineered components for internal assembly operations.

Working within a fast-paced production environment, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC multi-tasking lathes to manufacture components to exact specifications while maintaining exceptional quality and delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Set and operate CNC lathes to produce small and medium production batches.

* Manufacture components from raw materials efficiently and accurately.

* Inspect finished work against engineering drawings using a range of measuring equipment.

* Identify and report any quality concerns or defects promptly.

* Complete daily, weekly, and monthly machine maintenance checks.

* Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and support 5S initiatives.

* Reduce setup and cycle times while monitoring tooling performance and efficiency.

* Carry out de-burring, cleaning, final inspection, and completion of traceability documentation.

* Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production targets and deadlines.

About You

* Previous experience operating CNC machine tools.

* Experience working with CNC lathes, ideally with a minimum of 4-axis machinery.

* Knowledge of reading and editing Fanuc-based programs.

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

* Experience using measuring equipment for detailed quality inspection.

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

* Able to work independently and as part of a team.

* Safety-conscious with excellent communication skills.

* Willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Desirable:

* Experience with twin spindle machines.

* Knowledge of AS9100 aerospace quality standards.
