Speech Language Pathologist

Job Overview

AHMC Health Care seeks a Speech Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive speech, language, swallowing, and cognition services in inpatient and outpatient settings.

• Conduct screening, assessment, and diagnosis of speech, language, cognition, swallowing, and oral pharyngeal function.
• Formulate and implement individualized plans of care, monitor progress, and revise as needed.
• Provide evidence‑based treatment for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders.
• Plan and document discharge from speech pathology services, and coordinate with interdisciplinary team.
• Educate patients, families, and staff regarding impairments and management strategies.
• Attend and actively participate in patient‑care conferences, documenting participation.
• Maintain ethical practice, professional growth, and adherence to institutional policies.

• Master’s degree or higher in speech pathology or related field from an accredited institution.
• Current California Speech‑Language Pathology and Audiology licensing and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) issued by the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association.
• Valid California Class C driver license.
• Minimum two (2) years of clinical speech‑language pathology experience in a clinic or educational setting.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.

• Experience performing modified barium swallow studies.
• Experience with dysphagia management in a healthcare setting.
• Additional credit for experience as a Licensed Speech‑Language Pathologist beyond the selection requirements.
