- Planning and directing the day‑to‑day operations of assigned store location.
- Developing strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales and increase profitability as projected by budget and goals.
- Ensuring customer/donor needs are met by maintaining good community relations; complaints are resolved; and service is quick and efficient.
- Scheduling store employees to ensure appropriate coverage and coordinating daily morning and shift‑change team meetings.
- Supervising employees in performance of duties to ensure compliance with published directives and guidelines.
- Responsible for interviewing and processing hiring of new store employees.
- Providing training for new personnel on store policies and procedures.
- Issuing disciplinary warnings, conference reports, employee evaluations and goals.
- Ensuring the store is maintained and inventory levels are adequate.
- Ensuring timely completion of regular and accurate remainder entry from the sales floor.
- Managing Back Room Processing to ensure material handlers meet daily processing goals.
- Safeguarding cash in registers and safe, and banking cash receipts per ARC policy.
- Processing paperwork related to time and attendance compliance.
- Attending monthly district meetings and organizing store monthly meetings to keep personnel informed of new policies and directives.
- Ensuring safety measures are established and maintained consistently; conducting weekly store meetings.
- Implementing appropriate loss‑prevention measures.
- Performing other written and/or verbal duties as assigned by management.
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years previous retail management/supervisory experience.
- Ability to accurately handle POS/cash register operations and cash transactions.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Pass background check, including criminal history and sex offender registry.
- Effective communication with management, staff, customers and donors.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling racks, fixtures, and hand trucks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
- Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Our stores operate 7 days per week. Work schedules are determined by management and employees must be flexible to ensure adequate store coverage. Full‑time associates may be scheduled for any full‑time shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
