General PurposeThe Retail Associate ensures that customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets all customers courteously, treats fellow associates with respect, follows all company best‑practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation.
Essential Functions- Practice safe behaviors and maintain high safety awareness on the sales floor.
- Keep the store clutter‑free with clear egress to emergency exits.
- Treat customers and associates with respect and courtesy; greet customers with eye contact and a smile.
- Assist customers at the register, answer questions, and provide prompt service.
- Handle customer issues courteously and call store leadership when needed.
- Represent and support the company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters, and replenishing restroom supplies.
- Adhere to the company dress code and maintain professional appearance.
- Execute daily sizing and recovery and merchandising tasks to keep the store organized.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor per monthly presentation guidelines.
- Understand loss‑prevention and merchandise‑protection programs.
- Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
- Follow Mark‑Out‑of‑Stock policies and cash‑handling procedures.
- Demonstrate urgency, maximize productivity, and minimize steps in workflow.

- Communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, and pleasant manner.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC.
- Stand, walk, and move around the store 100% of working time.
- Bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- Some stockroom shifts may require pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 20 pounds.
