We are currently seeking a Registered Dietitian Consultant to travel to our partner nursing homes and provide expert dietary support that promotes resident health and facility compliance.
Position SummaryAs a Dietitian Consultant, you will be responsible for evaluating residents' nutritional needs, providing dietary guidance to facility staff, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, including CMS guidelines. This role is ideal for a registered dietitian with long-term care experience and a passion for improving the nutritional well‑being of seniors.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct nutritional assessments and reassessments for residents in skilled nursing facilities.
- Develop and monitor individualized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Provide guidance on therapeutic diets, menu planning, and dietary modifications.
- Train and support dietary staff on nutrition practices, sanitation, and food safety.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and prepare for state survey readiness.
- Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
- Travel to assigned facilities across the state of Texas.
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) with active Texas licensure.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in long‑term care or geriatric nutrition.
- Strong knowledge of federal/state regulations (CMS, FDA, etc.) related to dietary services in nursing homes.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Must be willing and able to travel regionally with reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement provided).
