About the position:
This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Sheppard AFB Lodging.
DutiesThis position is for Lodging operations with 800 or more rooms. The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, conduct, and manage a large, complex, and expanded lodging housekeeping program. Indirectly supervises a work force of employees primarily classified as Custodial Workers, NA-3566-1, through subordinate supervisors. Formulates, implements, coordinates and controls a comprehensive lodging housekeeping program. Determines long- range, intermediate, and short-range program goals and policies independently or jointly with higher management.
Develops and implements organizational structures and operating plans and procedures to achieve program goals, monitors effectiveness and efficiency of operations within the established framework, and makes adjustments as necessary. Accountable for the quantity and quality of work performed by assigned employees to include: hires , pro motes , motivates , disciplines, and separates employees . Assigns, directs, and reviews the work of subordinates , and evaluates their work performance;
approving or disapproving sick leave, annual leave, or other absences from work; planning, scheduling , and coordinating work operations, solving problems related to the work supervised ; determining equipment and supplies needed; and explaining and gaining the suppor1 of subordinates for management policy and goals; and for dealing effectively with employee and representatives of personnel on employee suggestions, complaints, grievances, and other matters.
Establishes personnel management policies for the housekeeping operation in line with the personnel policies of the AF and local lodging operations. Delegates authority to subordinate supervisors and hold s them responsible for the performance of their respective organizational units. Responsible for maintaining documentation to prepare as needed budget information on information such as, housekeeping personnel expenses, cleaning supplies , and resale sundry stock.
Develops and maintains standards for cleanliness and sanitation. Standards encompass such areas as frequency of cleaning; methods, procedures, and safety precautions to be followed; selection, measurement and proper use of housekeeping and cleaning supplies; and use and maintenance of housekeeping equipment. Monitors performance based recognition and internal special lodging awards programs for the housekeeping staff. As required, may clean and restock Lodging facilities and related areas.
