American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring TX or compact RN license and Level II Trauma Center experience.

• General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patients
• Level II Trauma Center and STEMI/Stroke Certified facility
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts (11:00-23:00)
• Alternating 36/48 hour biweekly schedule or straight 48s considered
• Epic charting system experience preferred

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS required
• CPI, ENPC, and MAB certifications preferred
• Minimum 3 years of ER experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy including arterial line management, central line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Experience managing psychiatric and behavioral health patients including acute psychosis and suicidal patients
• Experience with neurological trauma including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury
• Experience applying splints and managing orthopedic trauma
• Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and triage

• Care for a wide range of pediatric and adult emergency conditions including abdominal pain, asthma, burns, seizures, and infections
• Manage shock/trauma cases such as gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Identify and report signs of neglect or abuse
• Facility conducts its own mandatory drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with positive results resulting in automatic cancellation
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the position
• First-time travelers will not be accepted for this role
• Two professional references from supervisors within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration
