Job SummaryA student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties- Respond to immediate classroom tech support needs (projectors, screens, computers, and more)
- Troubleshoot and maintain A/V equipment across campus
- Assist with new equipment installations
- Support live campus events (conferences, presentations, speaking engagements)
- Occasionally lift, push, or carry up to 65 lbs
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.
Additional Requirements- Have excellent written, spoken, and telephone English communication skills
- Customer support attitude
- Works well with limited instruction
- Works well in loud/noisy environments, and quiet environments
- Must have a valid U.S. Drivers License at the time of application.

Preferred Qualifications- Experience with audio/visual media technology preferred.
- Experience with a variety of software applications, including--but not limited to--MS Office, Zoom, MS Teams, Google Chrome (and other browsers) is preferred.
- Basic working knowledge of audio equipment (mixers, microphones, etc.) and video equipment (projectors, computers, TVs) is preferred.
- Evening and weekend availability
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
