Field Engineer
Job Responsibilities- Work directly with a crew of 5-6 employees to successfully complete daily tasks and quality projects.
- Work closely with project superintendents to meet or exceed daily production goals.
- Work closely with sub-contractors and give directions as needed.
- Know Company safety policies and adhere to them while working at all times.
- Assist superintendent with site layout, including use of a total station to establish control points, elevations and layout accuracy.
- Self-perform a variety of scopes, including site prep, formwork, concrete (prep, place and finish), steel erection, and more.
- Complete project close-out work, including trim and finish carpentry, completion of punch-list items and preparation for final inspection.
- Will assist workers in various labor-based tasks. This will require heavy lifting capabilities (up to 100 pounds).
- Other miscellaneous duties as directed by the job site supervisor.
- Proven ability to lead others; by skill, leadership qualities and work ethic.
- Willing to work alongside crew and set the pace.
- Must have substantial experience in construction related craft.
- Experience with vertical concrete structures and flatwork.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, means, materials.
- Ability to ready plans, specifications, schedules and to foresee potential challenges.
- Knowledge of and strict adherence to OSHA Construction Standards.
- Able to stoop, kneel, balance and crawl frequently, with the ability to lift 25-75+ lbs. frequently.
- Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience in bridge and heavy highway construction is a plus but not required.
- Prior safety certifications (OSHA 10/OSHA 30) are preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as a skid steer, aerial lifts, front end loader and excavator is preferred.
