. The teacher cooperates with parents to form the whole person spiritually, academically, emotionally, socially, and physically. The teacher demonstrates Catholic values through both instruction and example.

In cooperation with parents, the Catholic school teacher teaches and models Catholic principles, ensuring students receive both academic instruction and moral development.

• Promulgate teachings consistent with Catholic principles and conduct self in a manner consistent with Catholic moral standards.
• Hold a valid diocesan teacher’s contract and a valid Kansas teaching license.
• Teach math to three homerooms each day; additional subjects taught to the homeroom class only.
• Collaborate with principal to build a faith community among faculty, staff, and students.
• Carry out all teaching assignments and other responsibilities as assigned or outlined in the school’s faculty handbook.
• Develop close relationships with parents, who are primary educators of their children.
• Integrate moral values throughout curriculum and all activities.
• Create a classroom environment that respects the human dignity of every child, regardless of capabilities and disabilities.
• Implement diocesan curriculum, policies, guidelines and programs.
• Plan the educational process and implement instructional activities that provide the best opportunity for students to master required outcomes.
• Provide proper supervision of students at all times.
• Maintain professional manner, appearance, promptness, and performance as outlined in the faculty handbook.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance necessary skills.
• Fulfill diocesan policies on suspected abuse of children (VIRTUS).
• Refuse to use the school for personal ends through sale of goods.
• Consider the obligation to fulfill teaching contract conscientiously as binding.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by Principal and central office administrators.

Kansas State Certification as an Elementary Teacher.

Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copier, fax, and telephone.

Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Works in standard office and school building environments.
