Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks qualified Part-time Maternal-Child Nursing Faculty for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in Wichita, KS.

Course Overview:

This course emphasizes family-centered maternal/newborn care, health promotion, and wellness. It covers the childbearing cycle, including normal and high-risk experiences, complications, and women's health issues, utilizing diverse populations and settings in experiential learning.

Responsibilities

The clinical instructor will:

• Implement the college's philosophy, curriculum, and course objectives through clinical teaching and community engagement.
• Teach onsite in clinical settings with our partners, typically 12-hour shifts (7 am - 7 pm) for three to four days.
• Manage all aspects of individual teaching assignments autonomously.
• Plan clinical experiences, supervise, and evaluate students providing nursing care.
• Provide timely feedback based on performance and support student remediation as needed.
• Orient and stay current with agency policies and procedures.
• Develop clinical assignments aligned with students' knowledge and skills.
• Grade coursework promptly and may teach didactic content under supervision.
• Communicate student and agency issues to the course coordinator and report to the dean or assistant dean.

Qualifications

We encourage candidates with:

• A master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• An unencumbered Kansas RN license.
• IL nursing license required before clinical contract acceptance.
• At least two years of recent professional nursing instruction or precepting experience.
• Passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
• Excellent communication skills and subject matter expertise.
• COVID-19 vaccination proof may be required at some clinical sites.
• A commitment to serve with respect and care, operating responsibly to enrich colleagues and students.

Additional Information

The expected compensation ranges from $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment, adjusted based on various factors such as course type, experience, and location.
