Job Description:
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for Static Stress & F&DT Structure Engineers to join our Engineering department based in Wichita, Kansas.
You will be part of a team that supports the development of aircraft structures as a Static Stress or F&DT analyst. Duties include performing complex static or F&DT analysis for both metallic and non-metallic parts while working in close collaboration with design colleagues to provide quality solutions. Methods include the use of both classical hand calculations and computer techniques to develop high strength to weight ratio structures.

Your working environment:
Located on the Wichita State University (WSU) innovation campus is Airbus’ first dedicated engineering facility outside of Europe. Our team of 200+ support staff and engineers focus on aerostructure design including analysis of aircraft primary structures, such as wings and fuselages, for all major Airbus products across the globe.
Your challenges:
- Work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.
- Document analyses in support of trade studies or detail drawing sign-off for airframe structure.
- Collaborate with other (internal/external) technical departments to solve complex technical problems.
- Develop advanced technological ideas and guide their development into a final product.
- Mentor less experienced structural analysts and provide leadership and guidance of a highly complex range of problems.
- Lead aspects of major projects successfully.
- Set broad objectives with timelines and establish the tasks required and how they should be completed.
- Demonstrate a high level of listening and speaking capabilities with all levels of management, internal and external.
- Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
Your boarding pass:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, or Mechanical) with a strong curriculum emphasis on structural design and analysis, and/or mechanics of materials.
- Minimum 12 years total structure analysis experience in analysis of primary airframe structures.
- Experience in composite aircraft structure (airframe).
- In-depth knowledge of classical and numerical (Finite Element) stress analysis methods.
- A strong computer background, including MS Office application experience (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite application experience (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail).
- Authorized to Work in the US.
- Prefer experience with A350, A220 Pylon or other Airbus commercial aircraft.

Onsite 90%. - Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
- Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
- Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
- Equipment Operation: able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
- Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
