Job DescriptionTheoris Services is assisting our client in their search for a Software Engineer specializing in avionics, power electronics, and battery systems with a strong focus on AHRS and INS technologies. This role will be responsible for architecting and developing embedded software using cutting‑edge sensor technologies and software‑defined behavior. The engineer will support a diverse range of products including cockpit displays, navigational reference systems, data conversion devices, power conversion equipment, and lithium battery management systems.
This position will directly contribute to the development of world‑class aviation instruments and power solutions used throughout general, business, and commercial aviation.
- Design and implement embedded C software for bare‑metal microcontroller‑based systems.
- Develop optional VHDL firmware for FPGA‑based architectures.
- Architect AHRS and INS systems using MEMS, FOG, and other inertial sensing technologies.
- Create manufacturing, calibration, and verification tools for safety‑critical products.
- Build and troubleshoot hardware, including soldering, electrical testing, and lab‑based evaluations.
- Prototype and execute test programs ensuring compliance with performance, safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
- Collaborate across engineering teams to support product lifecycle from concept through deployment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years designing embedded software.
- 5+ years as principal designer for AHRS and INS solutions.
- 5+ years characterizing and calibrating inertial sensor devices.
- Strong ability to work directly with hardware, test equipment, and lab tools.
- Proficiency in C programming
. - Skilled with Microsoft Office.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and results‑driven mindset.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience with C#, C++, Python for PC‑based applications.
- Experience with VHDL
. - Background designing safety‑critical systems using RTCA DO-178
, DO-254
, or equivalent processes. - Experience in PCB system design or troubleshooting.
- Understanding of DFM and DFT design principles.
