Description Job Summary
As a QAQC Specialist at Hutton, you’ll ensure every project meets our high-quality standards. You’ll review designs, inspect installations, and verify compliance with architectural and engineering plans, manufacturer recommendations, and Hutton standards.
Working closely with project teams, clients, and trade partners, you’ll help deliver safe, functional, and high-quality projects from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities- Character & Culture: Champion Hutton’s values — Lead, Inspire, Respect, Construct — while building strong relationships, mentoring others, and setting the tone for quality.
- Client & Stakeholder Focus: Represent client interests, build trust with trade partners, and keep teams aligned to deliver successful outcomes.
- QAQC Culture & Training: Collaborate with leadership to strengthen QAQC programs, integrate Hutton Building Standards, and train team members on expectations.
- Design Review & Preconstruction: Review drawings, specs, and submittals for constructability and quality, coordinate with designers and engineers, and lead preconstruction meetings and mockups.
- Field Oversight: Conduct jobsite walkthroughs, inspections, and first‑in‑place checks, coordinate testing, and prepare quality reports to ensure compliance with design and manufacturer standards.
- Continuous Improvement & Resources: Provide feedback to improve quality processes, resolve issues with project teams and trade partners, and maintain organized QAQC resources for team access.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's or associate degree in relevant architectural, engineering, or construction management program preferred
- At least five years of construction site leadership or equivalent experience required
- OSHA 30‑Hour Certified.
- Strong reasoning and problem‑solving skills to evaluate solutions and resolve issues effectively.
- Knowledge of construction manufacturers, building codes, design documents, inspection procedures, site control, and scheduling.
- Ability to read, interpret, and communicate plans, specifications, and field‑testing protocols.
- Proficient in organizing work, maintaining attention to detail, and completing tasks thoroughly and accurately.
- Leadership ability to train, motivate, and guide others while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Effective verbal, written, and technical communication skills with ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Suite.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at times
- Ability to navigate active construction sites as required to conduct QAQC inspections
