This position requires access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies. Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and must meet the requirement of being a “U.S. Citizen”.

Job Summary

A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties
  • Set up environmental hardware and verify production test results.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve environmental setup and production issues.
  • Collect, format, and analyze environmental testing data for engineering review.
  • Document findings, perform calculations, and present results to engineering staff.
  • Assist in hardware development, including assembly and soldering from schematics.
  • Support environmental stress programs for electronic components.
  • Collaborate with engineering, customer service, production, and shipping teams to facilitate tasks.
  • Follow technical instructions, specifications, and procedures with accuracy.
  • Apply analytical and mathematical skills to interpret test results and ensure component reliability.
Required Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical/Computer Engineering (sophomore or junior preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to detect small defects (e.g., bent leads within 0.004-inch tolerance).
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical data, performing calculations, and applying mathematical principles.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and follow detailed technical instructions.
  • Basic soldering and hardware assembly skills (preferred).
  • Comfortable lifting and handling equipment weighing 5 lbs or more.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
  • Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
