What You Will Do

Support the preparation of responses to state and federal regulatory agencies regarding audits, permits, and other regulatory requests. Organize and analyze compliance data for internal and external reporting.

Coordinate, schedule, and participate in preparing responses to state regulatory agency findings, incident reports, and Notifications of Probable Violations.

Analyze initial information of incident events to help determine if the event meets reporting requirements. Assist in reporting to the state commission, federal National Response Center, and Chemical Safety Board as necessary.

Review pipeline safety rules established by state and federal regulations pertaining to the DOT. Review and communicate to Operations any operational inquiries they may have concerning procedures and practices about compliance with state, federal, and company requirements.

Support management on inquiries concerning documentation related to technical compliance audits and inspections.

Require utilization of corporate enterprise applications and execution of reporting, trending, and special queries.

Participate in emergency mock drills that are conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of emergency response plans as requested.

Monitor response timelines and evaluate report data that is submitted to state and federal agencies to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.

Analyze requests from operating groups related to leak repairs, foreign gas, and other requests or conditions that require Division Engineering review or approval and develop recommended actions in accordance with company procedures.

Analyze and correct leak data in support of corporate strategies to identify and reduce risk of pipeline assets (as specified by position).

Support rate case filing by fulfilling data requests.

Submit fees and documentation for state pipeline agency permits and annual filings.

Research, assess, and communicate information related to (as specified by position):

  • Applicable state and federal pipeline safety regulations
  • DOT Regulations - Parts 191 and 192, API RP 1162
  • Company operations and maintenance procedures
  • Emergency Response Plans
  • Responses to Notices of Probable Violations
  • Incident reporting
  • State or Federal Reports a Required
  • Provide recommendations on federal, state and company policies and procedures
  • Material failure reporting
  • Other data requests as required (State Commission data requests)

Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.

Employee may perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

What You Will Need

Bachelor's Degree preferred in Science, Engineering, Business, or similar degree; or an equivalent combination of formal education and job-related experience.

Experience in various phases of distribution and transmission functions.

Working knowledge of piping standards and design along with applicable operations standards

Application of math and algebraic formulas and statistics.

Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software is preferred:

  • Microsoft Excel, including advanced features such as Pivot tables, formulas, and logical statements
  • Microsoft Access and other similar systems
  • Enterprise applications such as GIS, MAXIMO, BANNER

Experience and/or training including but not limited to:

  • Interpersonal/communication skills
  • Transmission/distribution pipeline operations
  • Research and recommendations on federal, state, and company policies and procedures

Experience identifying, researching, evaluating and prioritizing problems or specific situations and coordinating appropriate action/response.

Experience reading and interpreting DOT regulations, Parts 191 and 192;
Pipeline Safety Rules;
Customer Service Field Manual; EPA regulations; and various other technical documents relative to governmental rules and regulations.

Experience interacting and communicating effectively.

Experience developing information and making presentations to groups and individuals.

Read and write in English.

Applicable driver's license. Requires travel to other company offices and facilities and to job sites.

Requires travel, including overnight stays multiple times a year.

Mobility to travel in and around plant and office facilities and around job sites out-of-doors.

Operate tools and equipment required.

Able to communicate and exchange information; conduct oral presentations.

Visual requirements to perform job responsibilities.
