This role is at Spirit Aero Systems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Location:
Wichita, KS (On-site)
- Develop, document, and coordinate implementation of policies, processes, practices, procedures, standards, and specifications for control of Product Configuration Information and baseline product and program configuration information, and changes thereto, related to development, test, manufacture, and production of products, systems, and equipment (i.e., working knowledge of EIA-649 and EIA-649-1 is essential)
- Create configuration management plans, including technical and management processes, for unique program/product requirements in accordance with customer, company, and regulatory requirements
- Verify that product configuration, subcontract deliverables, and prime contract deliverables are in compliance with applicable requirements
- Review and coordinate with other disciplines, customers, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors to monitor compliance with customer, company, and regulatory requirements
- Apply knowledge of external standard development organizations (e.g., AS9100, SAE, ASME, DOD, etc.) and the company's internal governance structures, policies, and procedures
- High School Diploma or GED with 8+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's Degree with 5-7+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree with 2-4+ years of relevant experience
- 2-4+ years of configuration management and control within a manufacturing environment including derivative product definition data
- Proficient with Microsoft office products
- Experience with CATIA, Enovia, 3DExperience, and/or SAP
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models
- Auditing or working within an audit team to confirm compliance with documented procedures
- Leadership experience / ability to effectively drive results from start to finish in a dynamic environment
- Great attitude, willingness to learn, and being flexible
- Customer interface and cross‑functional project management
This is a union‑represented position.
Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $72,900 - $111,800
Kansas Tax Credit:
Join Spirit Aero Systems’ Kansas team and you may be eligible for a $5,000 state of Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years. for more information on the tax credit.
