ATLAS is seeking a Program Manager with a strong background in material and process specifications, manufacturing techniques, and certification and qualification testing for advanced composite materials.
Job SummaryConducts program management in the laboratory to ensure the timely and satisfactory completion of research projects and programs. Oversees laboratory research and testing, directs laboratory activities, manages program requirements, production, scope, and budget, and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders including engineering, contracts, finance, and other research laboratories.
Essential Functions- Manage laboratory activities related to the program, including research and testing.
- Handle program requirements such as production, scope, and budget.
- Provide oversight to ensure work is completed on time and meets established standards or specifications.
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate program effectiveness and support key performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Coordinate with and report to internal and external stakeholders.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five (5) years of related program management experience; every 30 hours of related college coursework can substitute for one (1) year of experience (maximum of four (4) years).
- Primary point of contact for entire statement of work, responsible for on‑time delivery, cost control, and overall performance.
- Risk management and mitigation strategies for on‑time deliveries.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project, MS Visio.
- Technical and managerial assistance and support to customers.
- Ability to understand and interpret program requirements.
- Leadership of collaborative research activities.
- Technical aptitude and high energy and enthusiasm for customer satisfaction.
- Support the definition of current and future technology advances that enhance laboratory prominence.
- Assist in the preparation of short‑ and long‑term business plans for a program.
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful program completion.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent time‑management and critical thinking skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Inspect and/or survey materials, equipment, reports, and/or incidents to identify errors or needs.
- Interpret information accurately and impartially.
- Operate a computer and other office equipment, including phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
- Communicate effectively with others to exchange information.
- Use tools, equipment, and technology necessary for the job and possess dexterity in instrument manipulation.
- Move or traverse across campus, within buildings and offices, and/or across external environments.
