State Income Tax--Manager--Open Location role ation:

The State Income Tax Manager will provide a variety of tax consulting, planning, and compliance services to a diverse range of clients operating in various sectors. You will oversee state-level tax projects, including compliance and related research, and be responsible for leading and directing a team in managing state tax compliance and advisory services for clients. The role focuses on applying knowledge to a wide range of tax areas and processes and devising strategic outcomes for complex issues.

• Managing and executing state income tax compliance responsibilities.
• Monitoring and analyzing changes in state income tax laws and regulations and determining the impact to the client.
• Providing complex tax review, research, planning and consulting services to diverse clients, including federal and state tax regulations.
• Leading or assisting with various tax planning, research, and special projects.
• Preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual state income tax provisions.
• Modeling various state income tax benefits and consequences using Microsoft Excel, Power
  
  BI or Alteryx.
• Writing tax technical memos to articulate issues, conclusions, and analysis related to state tax issues.
• Developing and working with staff and seniors to create a collaborative team environment.

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline and approximately six years of related work experience.
• High level of proficiency in state income tax code, regulations, and procedures.
• A proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization.
• Technical writing and research experience in a tax context.
• Ability to analyze client data, provide technical guidance, and make recommendations to engagement teams.
• Ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects.
• Strong influencing skills and the confidence to question existing processes.
• Willingness to travel as needed and to work in a balanced hybrid environment.

• An achieved or partially achieved CPA qualification, certification as a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, or the ability to sit for or be a member of a state bar.
