Business Intelligence; BI Developer

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to design, develop, and maintain data solutions that drive insight and decision-making across our organization. This role requires strong technical expertise in data modeling, ETL, Python, and visualization
, along with the ability to translate business needs into scalable, high-impact analytics and experience with continuous improvement principles to optimize processes and workflows.

The ideal candidate will have experience with the Microsoft BI stack, including Power BI, DAX, SQL, SSIS, and SSRS
, with additional exposure to Azure services and modern data platforms. The BI Developer will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and IT teams to ensure data accuracy, promote self-service analytics, and deliver measurable business value.

Reports to: Senior Manager of Digital Transformation

• Design, develop, test, and maintain BI solutions, including data models, ETL pipelines, and Power BI dashboards.
• Build reports and visualizations that transform raw data into actionable insights for decision-makers.
• Develop and maintain data transformation and automation scripts using Python.
• Support day-to-day BI operations, including enterprise data warehouse, SSAS, SSRS, and Power BI environments.
• Monitor and optimize data quality, performance, and security across BI solutions.
• Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
• Promote a data-first culture by evangelizing self-service BI, mentoring users, and reducing reliance on Excel-based reporting.
• Evaluate and recommend new data tools, technologies, and processes to continuously improve BI capabilities.
• Maintain accurate documentation of data models, processes, and BI projects.
• Provide end-user support and training to maximize adoption and value from BI tools.
• Collaborate with Business Applications Analyst and Business Applications Developer to ensure cohesive enterprise data solutions.

• 3+ years of experience in BI development with Microsoft BI Suite (Power BI, DAX, SQL, SSIS, SSRS).
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehouse concepts.
• Proficiency with Python for data processing, automation, and integration tasks

• Experience designing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and data integrations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft tools and services, such as Azure, SharePoint, and Office 365.
• Ability to analyze complex business requirements and deliver practical, data-driven solutions.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document and present clearly.
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work in cross-functional teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Demonstrated work experience with increasing responsibility and impact in BI or data-focused roles.
• Preferred: Certifications in Power BI or SQL

• Preferred: Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric, or Data Lake technologies

• Preferred: Familiarity with agriculture, cooperatives, or agribusiness operations and the ability to apply BI solutions in this context.
