Systems Administrator / Database AdministratorPratt Industries USA is seeking a motivated and skilled Systems Administrator / Database Administrator to join our dynamic applications team in Wichita, KS. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional to play a critical role in managing and maintaining our core database and server infrastructure across the Pratt business system landscape.
What You'll Do (Main Responsibilities):- Perform comprehensive database and server administration, configuration, and maintenance.
- Install, configure, and manage database servers, virtual servers, and various systems.
- Ensure the optimal performance, integrity, and security of all managed systems.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and execution of IT infrastructure initiatives.
- Server implementation
- OS install and upgrades
- Application install and upgrades
- Test system refresh
- Disaster recovery
- System break fix
- Salary is competitive and dependent upon qualifications and experience.
- Some travel is required for this role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical work experience.
- Proficient knowledge of SQL.
- Demonstrated experience and competency with enterprise databases, specifically Oracle and/or MSSQL databases.
- Experience administering both Linux and Windows Server environments.
- Strong analytical and advanced problem-solving skills.
Experience:
- Experience with Virtual Server Environments.
- Knowledge of NAS/SAN Storage Environments.
- Proficiency in Linux/Windows Shell scripting.
- Familiarity with Sybase or Post Gres database systems.
- Experience implementing and managing Disaster Recovery / High Availability solutions.
- Familiarity with Oracle PL/SQL.
- Fundamental understanding of WAN/LAN networking concepts.
