The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the bank’s technology infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and security to support the organization’s ongoing operations and future growth. This leader will work closely with cross‑functional teams to design and maintain robust systems, networks, and platforms, while driving innovation and operational excellence. The role demands a proactive approach to problem‑solving, a commitment to high service standards, and the ability to balance day‑to‑day management with long‑term strategic planning.
Responsibilitiesand Expectations
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies with potential benefits for the bank. Monitor current trends in infrastructure technology and assess their applicability to enhance the bank’s operations.
- Collaborate with senior management to devise and execute an infrastructure budget that allocates sufficient resources to maintain and upgrade the bank’s infrastructure effectively.
- Prepare and deliver regular infrastructure performance reports to senior management. These reports cover infrastructure costs, operational performance, and security considerations.
- Design and implement a comprehensive risk management plan for infrastructure. Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with the bank’s infrastructure systems.
- Coordinate with other departments to align the bank’s infrastructure with organizational strategy, ensuring that infrastructure initiatives support overarching business objectives.
- Provide vision and strategic direction for the infrastructure team. Define team goals and objectives, and offer ongoing guidance.
- Foster motivation and engagement within the infrastructure team. Create a supportive work environment, encourage professional growth, and acknowledge team achievements.
- Develop and sustain relationships with key stakeholders, collaborating with senior management, internal departments, and external vendors to secure necessary support for infrastructure initiatives.
- Accountability for team performance. Oversee progress toward goals and take corrective action as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the bank’s infrastructure, ensuring that it is reliable, secure, and scalable to meet business needs.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations such as the Gramm‑Leach‑Bliley Act (GLBA), Sarbanes‑Oxley Act (SOX), and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
- Manage a team of infrastructure engineers and technicians, including hiring and training new employees, setting performance goals, and providing feedback.
- Stay up‑to‑date on the latest trends in infrastructure technology, attending conferences, reading industry publications, and networking with other infrastructure professionals.
- Education:
A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred. - Experience:
5–7+ years of experience in a leadership role in infrastructure management is required. Experience with cloud computing, virtualization, and disaster recovery is preferred. - Skills:
Strong technical skills in infrastructure management—including networking, security, and systems administration. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Certifications:
Some certifications helpful for this role include: - Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certified Cloud Architect (CCA)
- Certified Systems Engineer (CSE)
- In addition to the above qualifications, the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the banking industry and regulatory environment. They should also demonstrate a proven track record of success in delivering complex infrastructure projects.
