A client of Insight Global is seeking 2 Temporary L1 Help Desk Technicians. They will be responsible for the maintenance and support of workstations and related and connected computer hardware and software used by administrative personnel, office staff, and faculty for the university.
Work Performed:
- Responsible for deployment, imaging, and setup of Windows workstations to university personnel.
- Hardware Duties:
- Configure new computer hardware and troubleshooting end-user hardware and software problems for Newman University.
- Coordinate warranty work and non-warranty repairs for workstations and related computer hardware whether returning failed hardware to vendors, installing replacement parts shipped by vendors, or repairing with newly sourced parts.
- Coordinate and facilitate inventory management for hardware deployed to university personnel.
- Coordinate printer related issues, repairs, and installations with printer vendor(s) and facilitate internal inventory management and updates.
Software Duties:
- Maintain knowledge of the various Windows environments to migrate campus computers to latest operating system whenever possible.
- Maintain knowledge of anti-virus deployment and management techniques and facilitate anti-virus management and inventories.
- Maintain working knowledge of Microsoft Office as installed in an enterprise environment.
- Maintain working knowledge of Windows deployment techniques and practices.
- Performs mostly complex tasks with high level of decision.
- Coordinates complex interactions with multiple work groups.
Education/Experience/Skills/Training:
- A bachelor’s degree in a Computer-related field or a minimum of three years’ experience in business and/or educational computer services.
- 1-2 years of Helpdesk/technical support experience
- Diagnosing & repairing desktops/laptops (basic component swaps, peripherals)
