Production Welder
We are hiring immediately for a Production Welder.
What you will be doing as a Production WelderIn this role, you will perform a variety of production welding operations on different metal parts, ensuring smooth and fully penetrated welds. You will assist higher and lower grade welders, enhancing your skills and experience, and be part of a dynamic team creating the future of flight.
Responsibilities- Perform fusion welding processes (solder, TIG, spot, seam, orbital) on various metal alloys, including carbon steel, stainless steel, Inconel, magnesium, and titanium.
- Set up parts and operate welding equipment, input sequence of events in the work center console, and devise holding and locating devices.
- Clean, form, and position parts, tubes, and assemblies; determine the welding sequence to minimize internal stress and defects.
- Grind and smooth welded parts to appearance specifications; perform leak tests on welded parts and assemblies.
- Check, join, straighten, or hand‑form detail and welded assemblies; operate power machines like band saws, drill presses, and sandblasting equipment.
- Select proper heating coils and holding fixtures, adjust time cycle and voltage, regulate coolant flow, prepare quenching media, and apply flux and solder rings.
- A high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level Work Keys certification is required.
- Must obtain at least three TIG weld certifications (of your choosing and with supervisory approval) within nine months of entering this classification. Certification choices include Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Titanium, Steel, and Inconel.
- Pass a written welding exam and an annual eye exam.
- Ability to work in conditions exposed to sparks, fumes, heat, and other shop‑floor environments.
- 401(k) company match and additional annual contribution equal to 4% of eligible compensation.
- $3,000 annual lump‑sum payment eligibility per contract.
- Annual cost‑of‑living adjustment up to $1,500 per contract.
- Automatic increases of $0.30/hour every 3 months up to the top of grade per contract.
