Material Handler

Job Description

This role involves performing cycle counts, data entry, forklift driving, and operating saws while ensuring safety as the top priority. You will work with computer systems to enhance efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently.

  • Utilize warehouse handle materials effectively.

  • Conduct cycle counts and maintain inventory control.

  • Perform data entry and utilize computer systems for tracking and efficiency.

  • Read measurements accurately using a ruler.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in forklift operation.

  • Experience in a warehouse environment.

  • Knowledge of material handling techniques.

  • Basic computer skills and mathematical reading abilities.

  • Ability to perform cycle counting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 1+ years of warehouse and production experience in a metals facility or manufacturing-related environment.

  • Experience with inventory control, shipping and receiving.

  • Skill in using pallet jacks and order picking.

Work Environment

The role is set in a warehouse and production facility that demands high efficiency and production numbers. The facility accommodates 150-160 employees, with a dress code of jeans, t-shirt, steel-toed shoes, and PPE provided. Shifts are scheduled as follows: 1st shift (6am-2pm), 2nd shift (2pm-10pm), and 3rd shift (10pm-6am).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.20 - $20.20/hr.
