Job Title:
Saw Operator
The Saw Operator will work in a non-climate-controlled environment cutting metals down to order specifications. Utilizing band saws and metal saws, the operator will handle mostly aviation grade metals, with some marine grade presence. This role requires moving materials using a forklift.
Responsibilities- Expertly operate one or more saws in the service center.
- Process orders according to customer specifications for size.
- Ensure orders are processed accurately and on time.
- Pull and stage material to be processed at the saw.
- Retrieve material from plate racks using a forklift.
- Measure material to exact requirements.
- Enter data for specifications onto appropriate forms for computer entry.
- Safely operate cranes and forklifts, applying safe rigging practices.
- Assist in packaging, receiving shipments, and conducting weekly inventory cycle counts.
- Use precision tools such as tape measures, micrometers, nibblers, and calipers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two or more years of experience or training with saw and/or machinery.
- One or more years in the metals service center industry.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Ability to measure using different tools.
- Capability to read and calculate numbers and data.
- Ability to work independently and accept direction.
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
- Integrity in maintaining positive relations with coworkers, customers, and suppliers.
Skills & Qualifications
- Preferred one or more years of experience in the metals service center industry.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment is a non-climate-controlled warehouse, offering comfort with heaters during winter and large fans for air circulation in summer. Expect to work on the 2nd shift from 2 pm to 10:30 pm or the 3rd shift from 10 pm to 6:30 am. The facility has around 35 total staff members.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Wichita, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $39,520.00 - $43,680.00/yr.
