Job Summary And Qualifications

Under the general supervision of the unit manager or designee, the Clinical Nurse Coordinator is responsible for the direction and coordination of all nursing functions during the designated shift. The coordinator works collaboratively with the management team to assess and improve the quality of patient care services.

What you will do in this role
  • Assume responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions during the designated shift
  • Act as a resource person for staff and assist in education of nursing staff
  • Oversee the overall quality of nursing care provided when on duty
  • Make decisions regarding activities based on administrative operational standards, nursing administrative standards, human resource standards, and standards of care
  • Support and demonstrate alignment and leadership of the mission of Wesley Healthcare and Wesley ICARE standards
  • Systematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice by participating in quality of care activities to initiate, implement, and sustain process improvements
  • Maintain current professional knowledge, act as a role model/resource, and oversee direct nursing care to patients
  • Establish and maintain effective and respectful communication in development of all collaborative relationships
  • Utilize critical thinking and problem solving skills to identify, interpret, and access appropriate resources in patient‑specific scenarios
  • Secure, administer, and handle medication according to established guidelines
  • Deliver patient‑centered nursing care in accordance with standards of care defined by Wesley Medical Center
  • Assist with assessment and evaluation of staffing patterns for proper utilization of personnel according to patient acuity levels
  • Assist in investigations, documentation, and resolution of complaints or incidents concerning patients, visitors, physicians, and staff
  • Participate in, and enforce hospital life‑safety, quality, and risk‑management policies, procedures, and standards of regulatory agencies
  • Assist in the development and implementation of goals and objectives for the department
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, orientation, and evaluation of staff performance
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with an RN registration or RN diploma
