As a Nurse Unit Manager
, you will use your extensive clinical knowledge and leadership capability to provide overall coordination, management, and direction of patient/client care within your designated service area. You will be accountable for ensuring high-quality, safe, and consistent nursing/midwifery practice, while supporting staff development, team cohesion, and continuity of care. This role plays a key part in aligning clinical practice with policy, addressing practice inconsistencies, and driving improvements in patient outcomes through strong leadership and effective team management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and lead the delivery of patient/client care within a defined clinical or community setting.
  • Provide line management, leadership, and supervision to nursing/midwifery and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure nursing/midwifery practice aligns with professional standards, policies, and service expectations.
  • Build team capability, performance, and a positive workplace culture to support high-quality patient outcomes.
What We Are Looking For
  • Are you a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with at least three years’ post-registration experience?
  • Do you demonstrate competence in nursing and/or midwifery practice in line with relevant professional standards?
  • Do you have experience in management and leadership roles within a healthcare setting?
  • Are you confident supervising and supporting direct care workers, students, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses or midwives?
