Meddys is a full-service restaurant offering high quality, healthy Mediterranean cuisine served quickly at affordable prices. The first location opened in 2014 on East Harry Street, Wichita, providing a unique dining experience with friendly staff in a modern atmosphere. Fresh ingredients are made to order, and we tailor orders to dietary needs with hummus, shawarma, pita, complimentary sauces, and signature cocktails.

As of 2025, we have 5 Wichita branches and 4 Kansas City Metro area branches, plus new locations in Tulsa, OKC, Omaha, Salina, and Moore.

Job Description

We look for team members who work well together, hold each other accountable, get stuff done, and are proud of results. The goal is to create exceptional service for guests and an exceptional work environment for team members, with clear expectations and attainable rewards.

Responsibilities
  • Set up, clean, and organize workstations
  • Prepare ingredients for the shift (wash vegetables, chop, season meat, etc.)
  • Prepare oven, utensils, and grill for shift
  • Take orders from wait staff or computerized system
  • Cook orders according to food health and safety standards
  • Recommend ideas for specials or seasonal dishes
  • Handle multiple food orders at one time
  • Monitor orders as new orders arrive
  • Dress orders for presentation
  • Ensure each guest order has correct food and sides
  • Deliver food orders to expo staff timely
  • Store all food properly
  • Sanitize and clean workstations and utensils
  • Reorder stock and food supplies
  • Monitor other cooks and team members
  • Assisting other cooks or helping team members when needed
  • Maintain a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
Qualifications
  • Able to work in a fast‑paced environment
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift
  • Self‑motivated and self‑directed
  • Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks
  • Able to quickly memorize complex or multiple orders
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a busboy, washer, waiter, cook, or relevant work experience
  • Able to work mornings, nights, and weekends
  • Able to bend, move, and lift up to 25 pounds or more
  • Physically able to stand and move during the shift; able to bend and kneel through shift
