We’re looking for an enthusiastic Senior or Principal Ecologist to take the technical lead on a wide range of ecological projects. From habitat and species surveys to mitigation, biodiversity net gain (BNG) and environmental management systems, you’ll play a key role in delivering best practice and shaping the future of our consultancy.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, proactive professional to combine technical expertise with leadership, mentoring, and innovation — helping our clients achieve sustainable outcomes across infrastructure, development, and environmental projects.
What You’ll Be Doing- Leading and delivering Phase 1 & 2 Habitat Surveys, Protected Species Surveys, EcIAs, HRAs, and BNG assessments
- Preparing PEAs, mitigation licence applications, RAMS, and fee proposals
- Liaising with Natural England, local authorities, and landowners
- Mentoring and supporting junior ecologists, fostering technical excellence and career progression
- Leading client meetings, contributing to tenders, and supporting business development
- Relevant degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related discipline
- Minimum 6 years’ industry experience
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel or stay away when required (essential)
- CEnv or Full Member of CIEEM, IEMA, or ISEP (or equivalent)
- At least one EPS licence, with strong knowledge of EMS, BNG, and/or BREEAM
- Excellent communication skills, integrity, and a collaborative approach
